Fast Track Juniors and virtual students. If you have not met with the administration to receive your ACT goals, please come to school on Friday between 8:15 am and 10 am to meet with us. Your ACT score is significant to us, and we are here to support you. Meeting with us and meeting your ACT goals are essential to being eligible for Fast Track or Virtual next year.

10th Grade Honors History students visited American Village. They learned the path that the colonists took to gain American Independence. Students also learned how to march with their company and load muskets.

Fun times! This week, our students resume working on the skills they need to conquer the world.
Seniors must ensure they have ordered their cap and gowns from Herf Jones. The rep is coming on Jan 30th during our break period.
During OTI, Seniors will be finishing their resumes this week.
9th-11th will be using their OTI to work on the English portion of the ACT and can also work on our Mastery Prep program at home. If your student needs to check out a computer for the night, they can check those out from their 5th-period teacher.
We now have morning math tutoring and ACT prep from 7:25 am -7:50 am in Coach Brown's room every morning. Your student just has to show up and sign in.
Semester 1 Report Cards will go home on Friday; at the bottom is a code for the PowerSchool app so you can get real-time grades for your students.

Greetings and welcome back! This second semester is focused on Exceptional Educational Experiences for Every student, every day. We plan to emphasize critical thinking, math, reading, and writing skills to excel at the ACT. We have online resources and Chromebooks for all students to be able to work on our ACT Mastery Prep Courses at school or home. We want to encourage families to help their students start preparing now for the ACT. ALL Juniors will take the ACT on March 11th. Please see the attached calendar for other essential ACT dates for Juniors.

Semester Testing Begins Next Week! All CATA buses will run as regularly scheduled all week. Due to the extended test time, we will be on a Block Schedule for all tests on Monday and Tuesday. The schedule is as follows:
Monday 1,3,5,7 Test
Tuesday 2,4,6,7 Test
Make-up Benchmark, Civics, or Semester Test will be on Thur and Fri.
Block 1 - 7:55-9:25
Break - 9:27-9:45
Block 2 - 9:50-11:20
Block 3 - 11:25-12:15 (Lunch 12:20-12:45) 12:47-1:27
Block 4 - 1:30 - 3:00

Lorie Strane, our career coach, will be in Mr. Drummond's history class on Thursday, December 5th to assist your student with the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). This is a great opportunity to see if your student qualifies for Pell Grant money to further their education and is necessary for most scholarships, work study, or loans. At school on Tuesday, your student will need to provide the following information so you can receive your invitation to complete your portion of the application:
1. Your full legal name as it appears on your SS card or government ID
2. Date of Birth
3. Social Security Number or ITIN
4. Email address
5. Date you located to AL
Also, if your student is planning to job shadow in March, the signed form is due on Thursday as well.
